On August 2nd our Head of Genealogical Services, Jill Seaholm, spoke at the Scott County Iowa Genealogical Society's monthly meeting hosted by the Richardson-Sloane Special Collections Center of the Davenport Public Library.
Jill spoke for a small-but-mighty crowd of about 15 people, a mixture of in-person and online, telling about the Swenson Center's collections, digital initiatives, and events. She then showed the group examples of our Swedish-American resources by following an immigrant through our records.
There were more in attendance who did not have Swedish ancestry, but we are happy to show anyone interested what we are all about.
