Dear friends, Exciting things are happening at the Center! We're hiring our first-ever Development Officer. The ideal candidate is someone who can speak passionately about what we do at the Center and share this passion with others to garner support for our activities. This part-time position can be done remotely. You'll meet a few people in this newsletter, including our summer intern, our Faculty Research Stipend recipient, and a new advisory committee member. We love having new faces around the Center! We also have a number of upcoming events, including the opportunity to make your own felted gnome at our Hemslöjd workshop in August.
A few weeks ago, Jill Seaholm (Head of Genealogical Services) held a booth at the Swedish Days in Geneva, IL. She says, "Thanks to everyone who stopped by my booth at Geneva's Swedish Days on June 25th! I fielded lots of great genealogy questions and introduced many new people to our Swedish American Genealogist journal and other offerings. I had such a good time that I plan to be there again next year!" Happy summer, Lisa Huntsha Assistant Director & Head of Collections
